Fourth Annual DSA Diplomatic Charity Bazaar 2026 – Letter of Appreciation

Dear Esteemed Partners, Guests and Friends,

On behalf of the Diplomatic Spouses Association (DSA) Zimbabwe, I wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support, valuable contributions and active participation in the Fourth Annual DSA Diplomatic Charity Bazaar, held on Saturday, 17 October 2026, at the Old Georgians Sports Club in Mount Pleasant, Harare.

Under this year’s inspiring theme, “Together We Give, Together We Grow,” the Bazaar was a remarkable celebration of cultural diversity, friendship, solidarity and humanity. It brought together the diplomatic community, international organisations, local businesses, charitable institutions and the wider Zimbabwean community, all united by a common purpose to make a meaningful difference in others’ lives.

We are delighted to share that this year’s Bazaar welcomed more than 2,000 visitors, exhibitors and guests, and featured participation from 26 Embassies (including 1 Honorary Consulate), 29 sponsors and 65 vendors across various categories. These figures reflect the remarkable growth of an event that, since its inception in 2023, has become a much-anticipated fixture on Harare’s social and cultural calendar.

The day offered an extraordinary journey around the world without leaving Harare. The colourful Parade of Nations, traditional costumes, vibrant musical and cultural performances, international cuisines, handicrafts and beautifully presented national stands created an atmosphere of celebration, discovery and togetherness. The enthusiasm of performers, participants and visitors made the occasion particularly memorable, reflecting the richness of our cultures and the strength of our shared humanity.

This year’s Bazaar also brought exciting developments to our fundraising programme. Alongside our popular Charity Raffle, we introduced a Silent Auction, which attracted considerable interest and encouraged greater participation in our fundraising efforts. We are especially grateful to the generous donors whose contributions made both initiatives possible and strengthened the event’s charitable purpose.

Building on last year’s success, the Children’s Passport programme returned for its second consecutive year, offering our younger visitors the chance to discover different countries, learn about their cultures and traditions, and collect national flag stickers. Children were also rewarded with a globe, making their journey of discovery both educational and memorable. Our dedicated Children’s Corner provided entertainment and engaging activities throughout the day, allowing children to enjoy themselves while parents and families explored the many attractions of the Bazaar.

One of the most meaningful highlights of this year’s event was the dedicated tent, which brought together charitable organisations associated with the DSA. It provided them with a valuable platform to showcase their work, raise awareness of the communities they serve, and sell handmade products and other items that help sustain their charitable projects.

We were particularly honoured to have Zimbabwe’s First Lady, H.E. Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, as our Special Guest, Zimbabwean and African Ambassador for Gastronomy, represented by the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Honourable Barbara Rwodzi. During her visit, the Honourable Minister met the participating charitable organisations, learned about their initiatives, and acknowledged their valuable contributions to improving the lives of vulnerable communities. Her presence and recognition gave special significance to the Bazaar’s humanitarian purpose.

Beyond the festivities and impressive attendance, the true measure of the Bazaar’s success is its charitable impact. Funds raised through sponsorships, participation fees, ticket sales, raffles, the silent auction, and other DSA fundraising activities will support our ongoing humanitarian initiatives across Zimbabwe. These initiatives focus on healthcare, education, assistance for vulnerable communities, and the empowerment of disadvantaged women and children.

We are deeply grateful that you recognised and embraced this humanitarian mission. Your contribution was not merely support for a successful event; it was an expression of solidarity with the people and communities whose lives we seek to improve. As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability, we will share photographs, videos and highlights from the Bazaar on our official social media platforms. In due course, we will also publish a report on the charitable projects and activities undertaken in 2025/2026, together with our plans and priorities for 2026/2027. We hope these updates will provide meaningful insight into the impact of your generosity and the difference we can continue to make together.

As we reflect on this year’s event, we are encouraged by the positive feedback and enthusiasm we received. We also recognise that there is always room for improvement, and we would sincerely welcome your comments, suggestions and recommendations to help us make future editions of the Bazaar even more engaging, inclusive and successful.

The past four years have strengthened our belief that the Diplomatic Charity Bazaar is much more than a fundraising event. It is a unique expression of unity, demonstrating how the diplomatic community, international organisations, businesses, charitable institutions and local communities can work together in a spirit of friendship, generosity and shared responsibility. As we look ahead, we sincerely hope to continue to strengthen these meaningful partnerships and to welcome you to our upcoming DSA initiatives.

Once again, please accept our deepest appreciation for your generosity, friendship and invaluable contribution to the success of the Fourth Annual DSA Diplomatic Charity Bazaar 2026.

Together We Give, Together We Grow.

With my warmest regards and sincere appreciation,
