During the Francophonie Week 2026, under the auspices of the ZIMFLE programme, one extraordinary event was held at the French School in Harare – a major national French and Francophone song competition, over two consecutive days, on 19 and 20 March.
DSA was an active partner of the French School and valuable supporter to the event, by donating the homemade cookies, biscuits and refreshment drinks prepared by our members for around the 660 students from 44 Schools all around Zimbabwe, who participating and competing on French language with nice songs and performances.
This event, truly exceptional in terms of its scale and the level of engagement, was attended by the First Lady of Zimbabwe, Government officials, Excellencies and other members from the diplomatic community, sponsors, partners, students’ parents and relatives, as well as our DSA community members.
The best schools competing in categories of the Primary and Secondary level were awarded with excellent prizes in each category (for first, second and third place plus special recognitions), who were donated by the sponsors and partners including the DSA.
All guests and visitors really enjoyed in nice atmosphere of music and dance and applauded to the students who worked hard to preform and show their talent and knowledge. It was one more important international platform for the meeting of diverse national cultures and artistic achievements that share a common thread—the promotion of the French language and its rich cultural and artistic heritage.
