Skills for Life & Livelihood
In mid-October, members of the Diplomatic Spouses Association of Zimbabwe Executive Committee visited Ondine’s Kitchen Hub, a housekeeping pilot project under the Lynde Francis Trust, to witness the impressive progress being made. The young women are receiving hands-on training in international cooking, professional housekeeping, home gardening, recycling, and community clean-ups—equipping them with practical skills for both employment and self-reliance.
The visit also showcased the Trust’s inspiring plastic recycling initiative, where waste is collected from the streets, cleaned, processed, and transformed into colourful material used by local artists and designers to create durable furniture, lampshades, and functional home décor. This innovative project, known as “From Street to Seat,” not only protects the environment but also creates jobs and transforms waste into sustainable livelihoods.
The DSA is proud to support this impactful journey of skills development and empowerment.
